How to manually deploy agent and assign data sources
Prerequisites
Before installing the CYBERQUEST agent on a Windows target machine, ensure the following components are installed:
Authentication
To access the web interface, open a browser and enter the application's IP address or DNS name (for example, https://CyberquestIPAddress). The browser redirects to the CYBERQUEST authentication page:

Credentials
Credentials define the accounts agents use when collecting data. See How to manage credentials for details on creating and maintaining credential entries.
Installing the CYBERQUEST agent
To manually deploy the agent, download or copy the agent kit to the target Windows machine.
Navigate to Settings > Management > Agent Manager.

Use Download Windows agent to download the latest version of the CYBERQUEST agent.

Run the .msi installer. If prompted with a security warning, choose Run anyway to continue. The agent is installed to C:\Program Files\CyberQuestAgent.

Open C:\Program Files\CyberQuestAgent\configurator and run cyberquest-agent-configurator.exe as an Administrator. In Message Queue server, enter the CYBERQUEST server IP address and click Save Settings.

In Windows Services, restart the CYBERQUEST Agent service.
Registering the agent
Register the agent in the CYBERQUEST server from Settings > Management > Agent Manager.
Click the register button:

Complete the fields Agent name, Agent note, and assign credentials for the agent, then click Save.


After deployment, set the agent as manually deployed by clicking the manual‑deployment button:

Adding new data sources
The Windows agent connects to and collects data from the following data sources:
- WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation):
- Windows Security Log
- Windows Application Log
- Windows System Log
- ODBC data sources
- Oracle-based data sources
- MySQL (MariaDB)–based data sources
- API-based data sources
- Text files (free text and CSV)
