Views
Save asset filters as views, share them with your team, pin the ones you use most and open them in the asset inventory.
Overview
A view is a saved asset filter with a name. Instead of rebuilding the same filter on the Asset Inventory every day (“Ubuntu servers tagged prod with open vulnerabilities”), save it once as a view and open it with one click.
Views are Private (only you see them) or Team (everyone in your organization sees them). You need views:read to open the page and views:write to create, edit, clone, share or delete views.
Screen tour
- Activity summary: how many views you have, how many are private and shared, and the last edited view. Click a count to filter, or the view name to open it. The bars on the right show edits over the last 14 days.
- Search views…: filters by name and description. Press
/to jump here. - Grid / Table: switches between cards and a sortable table.
- Filters: opens the filter panel (Scope, Owner, Activity, Sort).
- Export: downloads all your views as
views.csv. - Keyboard shortcuts: shows the shortcut list.
- + New View: opens the two-step view dialog.
- Quick filters: All, Mine, Team, Pinned, Stale.
- The scope badge: Private, Team, Team (yours) for team views you own, or Stale for views not edited in 90 days.
- Pin view: pins the view to the Pinned quick filter.
- The saved filter as chips, for example
#demofor a tag and"Ubuntu"for a search. - Open in Assets: opens the Asset Inventory with this view’s filter applied. The More actions menu next to it has Edit, Clone, Share with team (or Make private) and Delete.
When views were added since your last visit, a line under the title says how many; click × to dismiss it.
Quick filters and the filter panel
| Quick filter | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | Every view you can see. |
| Mine | Views you own. |
| Team | Views shared with the team. |
| Pinned | Views you pinned. |
| Stale | Views not edited in the last 90 days. |
The Filters panel adds:
- Scope: All, Private or Team.
- Owner: Mine only.
- Activity: All or Stale (90d+).
- Sort: Last edited (default, newest first), Name or Created.
Active filters appear as chips above the list. Click × on a chip to remove it, or Clear filters to remove them all. The filters are kept in the page URL, so you can bookmark or share a filtered list.
Grid and table layouts
- Grid shows one card per view, with its description, filter chips, owner and last edit date.

Both layouts have Pin view and More actions on every view. Click a view (or press Enter on it) to open its side sheet.

The view side sheet
- The view name, description, scope badge and owner (You for your own views).
- Open in Assets: opens the Asset Inventory with this filter.
- Edit, Clone, Share with team / Make private, Delete.
- Filter definition: every criterion in the view, in plain words.
- Details: Created, Last edited, Scope and Owner.
Open, edit, clone and share views
- Open in Assets: opens the Asset Inventory filtered by the view. The URL carries the filter, so you can bookmark the result.
- Edit: opens the dialog with the current values. The button reads Save changes. You can edit your own views and any team view.
- Clone: opens the dialog as Clone view, with the name followed by “(copy)”. Change what you need and click Create view. Cloning is the way to adapt a teammate’s view without changing theirs.
- Share with team / Make private: changes the scope at once. The message “View scope updated.” has an Undo button.
