How to delete events older than 6 months
Set a retention policy and remove events older than the defined period from both archive (offline) and online stores.
All data is stored in two locations: the archive (offline) database and the online database. To delete events older than the required retention period, complete the two steps below.
A. Delete from archive (offline) database
Authentication
To access the web interface, open a browser and enter the application's IP address or DNS name (for example, https://CyberquestIPAddress). The browser automatically redirects to CYBERQUEST's authentication page:

Navigate to Jobs
Navigate to Settings > Jobs and select Jobs.

Create a new job
Click the Add Job button in the top-left corner of the interface. 

Complete the form to configure the job.

Name: Enter a descriptive name to identify the job in the Jobs list, for example: Delete Events - Older Than 6 Months
Description: Provide a short purpose, for example: Removes all events older than six months from the offline repository to free up storage
Server: Select the data server that manages the repository where the events are stored
Job Type: Choose Delete job
- Delete Job: Removes events from the specified repository based on the defined time window.
Data Storage: Select the offline data storage containing the events to delete.
Period Spec. Type: Choose Last 'x' units and set it to 6 months. This ensures that only events older than six months are targeted by the job
Active: Mark the job Active to run immediately, or leave it inactive to schedule it for later execution.
Click Save to apply the configuration and create the job.
Execute the job
Execute the Job: Click Start to begin executing the job. The system will process the specified data according to the configured settings.

Job Executions
On the Jobs page (top-right), click Job Executions to monitor the status of jobs.

B. Delete from online database
Authentication
Log in to the web interface with an account with administrative rights.

Navigate to Retention Period
Navigate to Settings > Application Settings and select RetentionPeriod.

Edit Retention Period
To modify the RetentionPeriodEL settings, click the
button and update the value according to GDPR requirements or the organization’s internal policies. Select the retention period and click Save to apply.
