How to create a RTBF job

An RTBF (Right to be Forgotten) job deletes personal data based on matching patterns to support regulatory compliance.

To create this type of job, follow the steps described below:

Authentication

To access the web interface, open a browser and enter the application's IP address or DNS name. The default address initially assigned to the web interface is: https://CyberquestIPAddress (example).

The browser automatically redirects to CYBERQUEST's authentication page:

Login page

Navigate to Settings > Jobs and select Jobs.

Settings > Jobs > Jobs

This page contains all job types added in the CYBERQUEST application.

Jobs list

Edit Job: Click Edit Edit buttonbutton to modify an existing job. The editing process is almost identical to adding a new job.

Start Job: Click Start Job Start button button to execute the job immediately. You can track its progress and status on the Job.

Delete Job: Click the Delete button Delete button and confirm to permanently remove the job.

Active/Inactive: Use the toggle Active toggle to enable or disable the job without deleting it.

Create an RTBF job

Click ADD JOB to create a new RTBF job. This opens the job configuration page where you can define the job’s name, description, data source, matching patterns, filters, and schedule.

New job form

  • Name: The display name of the job as it appears in the Jobs list.
  • Description: A brief summary of the job's purpose or function.
  • Server: The data server where the job will be executed.
  • Job Type: Select the type of job to run.
  • RTBF: A job that deletes data based on defined filters or patterns to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Data Storage: The offline storage location that contains the data to be processed.
  • Matching Patterns: Is used to search in data storage for all information matching the criteria.

  • Period Spec. Type: Defines the time range of the data to be processed.

  • Start Date / End Date: Set a specific time window for data copying.

  • Last 'x' units: Define a rolling time frame (e.g., last 7 days).

  • Active: Enables or disables the job.

When finished, click "Save" to apply changes or "Cancel" to discard.

Once the RTBF job has been created (prior to execution), events for the targeted user can be verified. Navigate to the Browser module, located on the left side of the interface. Apply the filter UserName:"userFromMatchingPatterns" and select the same time period defined in the RTBF job (e.g., the last 12 months) to confirm which events will be affected by the job.

After the job has been executed, return to the Browser module and apply the same filter and time period to verify that the users events have been deleted. The absence of the events confirms that the RTBF job processed the data according to the specified criteria.
